It is interesting to me that much of what the research shows about “happy” lifestyles coincide with teachings and principles of the gospel. What I notice in my practice is that when members can live these principles from a natural resonance, this fares much better than living them out of fear, guilt or competition with others. When members are trying to keep caught up with an infinite “to-do” list and are left feeling overwhelmed and exhausted by their efforts, then instead of happiness – depression, anxiety and/or apathy can set in.
