San Francisco Area (San Jose) – 11/11/2017 – Navigating Sexuality during and after a Faith Transition
Natasha Helfer Parker will be in the Bay area on Saturday, 11/11/2017, to conduct an evening workshop on “Navigating Sexuality during and after a Faith Transition.”
Description: Faith transitions affect many areas in a person’s life. One that is often not addressed directly by individuals, couples, therapists and/or spiritual leaders is that of sexuality. This workshop will provide frank and relevant information, as well as invite dialogue, to help those who want to work on the important tasks of reclaiming their sexuality.
Topics for this workshop will include:
- How to recognize and confront effects of systemic sexual shame
- How to define one’s sexual values outside of a religious framework
- How to use the 6 principles of sexual health to frame decisions in regards to sexual behavior
- How to navigate sexual negotiations with partners of choice, especially when libidos or erotic tastes differ
- How to better accept ourselves, wherever we may be on our sexual journey
Date/Time: The event will take place from 6pm to 10 pm on 11/11/2017. 6-7 pm will be dinner/socializing and 7-10 will be the workshop portion.* Every attempt will be made to customize the event for the specific needs of attendees.
Location: San Jose, California (exact address will be sent a week before the event).
Food: Dinner will be provided (soups and breads – cozy food).
*initially this was advertised as a day workshop… but due to travel changes and public feedback, it will now be a dinner/evening event.
