No friends are better than bad friends. I was just talking to a friend recently who said she needed to change her friends. I told her I’ve done it a few times. Even my own children have decided to do it recently. It’s not easy. It is very difficult. There are times of real loneliness. But it is better than drowning in a sea of toxicity, codependence, and negativity. This is one of the more difficult realities of leaving a... Read more

Hey everyone. I posted a new One Minute Message last night called “Breaking Up is Hard To Do With the Church” (CLICK HERE TO WATCH IT). It’s just one minute long. duh! So… free falling from faith. Sometimes there’s a leap of faith. Sometimes there’s a leap from faith. Jumping out of faith. You know, even Paul said that love was greater than faith. Many people have made this leap and have survived. Is there another way of understanding our... Read more

Jesus’ mission, as well as Paul’s, was an inclusive one. Their mission was to inform those who thought they were excluded that they weren’t. Today, the mission of many seems to be to inform those who think they are children of God that they in fact aren’t. Backwards. “NORTHERN LIGHT CROWS”: (buy a print of my painting!) Let’s find rest. Let’s find rest together. Let’s just be together. As we are. And rest. Just look at these crows. They don’t judge one another. A crow’s a crow. And that’s it. They flock together. The eat together. They fly together. And rest together. Under the brilliant northern lights and the vast array of stars. They rest together and delight in the world in which they live. A crow’s a... Read more

One of the things that religion teaches you is that you must serve others before yourself. You must always put others ahead of yourself. In fact, you should neglect your own needs for the sake of others. To take care of yourself is a sign of weakness and selfishness. To take time for yourself in order to care for yourself is understood as an unfortunate need for an inconvenient sabbatical that is temporary until you get well enough to serve... Read more

SPIRIT OF WINTER: (buy a print of this painting.) I love walking in heavy snowfall. Especially at night. There is something very mystical about it. Your vision is very limited. If there is a path before you, it can’t be seen. If you leave a path behind you, it certainly won’t be seen for long. So, even though you are moving, there is very little evidence of it. The blowing snow gives the appearance that, even though you are making... Read more

An honest exchange. And probably a fruitful one. It’s so easy to go through the motions. Then suddenly something happens that forces you to do some serious self-analysis. This is the beginning of transformation. Get my books that are full of this kind of stuff, paper or Kindle: CLICK HERE! Read more
