Stories are powerful. The stories told in books help to shape, create and undo worlds. What kind of world would this be if the likes of Baldwin, Morrison, and Hurston, never wrote and were never read?
The thought of that just impresses upon me the importance of #BlackMuslimReads. Important because elevating the stories told by Black Muslims does nothing short of ensuring that worlds our word create are dynamic rather than flat, include rather than exclude and always value those it keeps it real and right.
