Through homemade pictures and videos, our church blew up on social media Sunday afternoon, as 19 different people had friends and family commenting and congratulating them on their baptism. Social media is an incredible tool to spread the word about baptisms.

17. Baptism brings people to church that wouldn’t normally come to church. There were several folks I met that hadn’t been to church in years, but they came to support a family member or close friend. Baptism has a way to draw people to church that would normally never come to church.

18. If you prepare for spontaneous baptisms, don’t be surprised when it happens. We bought extra changes of clothes for anyone who wanted to get baptized that morning. 18 planned ahead and let us know ahead of time they were being baptized. 1 was spontaneous, the mother of a son who was baptized that day. She came simply to support, but God convicted her and she came forward to get baptized herself. Amazing!

19. Baptism is Christianity at its purest. Jesus gave us two ordinances: the Lord’s Supper and baptism. There is something timeless and ancient about baptizing people in the same manner as has been done for 2000 years. Baptism is Christianity at its purest.
