The Big Six

The Big Six October 1, 2012

This past Friday night at Mt Vernon, we had Table for Two, a periodic event we have for married couples where the church watches the kids and the married couples get a date designed to strengthen their marriage. Thankful to all the volunteers that helped make this happen! This past Friday, we introduced The Great Date Experiment from Northpoint Community Church. A healthy and successful church based out of Atlanta, Northpoint operates their MarriedLife marriage ministry on six great principles. The principles are so great I want to share them with you. Thanks Northpoint!

Nurture Romance

…The power of romance, sex, and intimacy can be marriage’s biggest ally, or it’s biggest enemy. We greatly desire our spouses to remember that we have certain needs. MarriedLife believes the goal should be to remember first that our spouses have certain needs. We feel this is the best way to … Nurture Romance

Celebrate Differences

Why do some couples’ differences pull them apart, and other couples’ differences draw them together? No matter which couple you think you are, MarriedLife believes that celebrating these differences can only strengthen the marital bond.

God designed men and women to be very different. As couples, we can use those differences to complement and serve each other. Often we try to change our spouses in the name of love. We believe a better option is to love our spouses, even if they never change. We feel it’s crucial for couples to seek to understand and accept each other’s differences. We want you to … Celebrate Differences

Finish Together

More and more people are putting divorce on the table as an option. One essential thing every healthy marriage needs is security. People need to know that together as a couple, they can work out anything. We want couples to … Finish Together
