Beatrice Institute, a Pittsburgh-based initiative fostering education and research in the Christian intellectual and cultural traditions, seeks a full-time Associate Director to oversee day-to-day operations, build programming, and execute development initiatives. The Associate Director will work with the Faculty Director, affiliated faculty, and part-time staff to execute the vision of the Institute’s board and Faculty Director. The qualified applicant will take a lively interest in the Christian intellectual life; be willing and able to learn quickly and execute a wide range of clerical and administrative tasks; have excellent writing and media communication skills; take initiative in planning and executing events and programming; and be able to oversee a budget and contracted tax and bookkeeping staff. Further desired qualifications include experience in or eagerness to learn about development (creating fundraising campaigns, donor relations, etc.); developing compelling intellectual and cultural programming consistent with the Institute’s vision; developing community among undergraduates; and teaching and mentoring undergraduates. The Associate Director must live in or relocate to the Pittsburgh area. The start date is negotiable between January and July, 2021. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications, in a range from $35,000 – $50,000, plus benefits. Part-time admin assistant
Beatrice Institute, a Pittsburgh-based initiative fostering education and research in the Christian intellectual and cultural traditions, seeks a part-time program assistant to manage communications, event planning and execution, and, optionally, bookkeeping. The qualified applicant will be a good communicator, detail-oriented, organized, and willing to learn and master new administrative technologies. Ideally, this would be a 20 hr/wk position, but the hours are negotiable. The position pays $15-18/hr., commensurate with experience.
