With Thanksgiving just days away, so many of us are pulling out all our Christmas decorations to start trimming the tree. And you may be like me – wanting a little touch of different to deck the halls this year.
Are you looking for a fun way to add custom Holiday artwork to your walls this season? Need an idea that’s simple and budget-friendly? I’m sharing this quick and easy DIY tutorial that you can make for your home for under $25!
This past week, our house was abuzz with red and green! It was all about the Christmas decor and everyone was so excited. While out one day, getting the last of the supplies for this season, three little wooden letters and a tiny jar of red craft paint just so happened to fall into my cart! Don’t you just hate when that happens? (wink)
As soon as I got home, I made the cutest Holiday wall art that has me jumping for JOY!
I am loving how this all came together and am oh-so-excited to show you all!
I started to paint the letters, but wouldn’t you know it! I couldn’t find a paint brush!
My home looks like a Christmas tornado just passed through and I wasn’t about take the time to look for that tiny paintbrush that I bet is buried in the bottom of my son’s legos.
My ingenious solution: a paper towel! And when that didn’t work, I used my pinky for the tight corners and edges. I painted away, singing “Joy to the World” and getting an awesome, one of a kind manicure at the same time.
As the letters were drying, I searched on Pinterest for free vintage Christmas Carol printables and found three that I wanted to use. I’ve pinned some for you to my Christmas board if you want to check them out.
I printed out the Sheet Music using my inkjet printer and trimmed the edges to fit. I slapped some craft glue on the back of each letter and let it dry. I think you could even use hot glue -whatever you have on hand that creates a nice bond.
I let the glue dry and then clipped them on my DIY Chalkboard Painted Clipboard’s I made earlier this year. (Click Here for the link to the tutorial)
Isn’t that the cutest?! And it took me about an hour including drying time!
Cheap, quick, and easy Holiday wall decor? Yes, ma’am!
And here’s a sneak peak of my tree I’ll be sharing next week. It’s all about the red and black buffalo check this year!
What I love most about this is how customizable it can be! If you rock the aqua or add glam with glitter, you can make this to fit your own Christmas styling.
Here is the breakdown of my costs. I’m including the Chalkboard Painted Clipboards in this list, even though that project was completed a few months ago.
