Preying For Profit
John 14:27, BSB Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid. (Jesus Speaking)
Since 2016, I have established connections with various occult practitioners from diverse backgrounds due to my unfortunate past encounters with deceitful occultists who exploited and preyed on a young, naive Christian woman for financial gain.
In response to intimidation tactics, I made an effort many years later to acquaint myself with a variety of occult practitioners to better comprehend their tactics and beliefs. Surprisingly, many pagans and witches I met were friendly. They appeared to be genuinely good people, despite being viewed as aligned with Satan by the average church-attending Christian.
Warnings about false prophets can be found in the Old and New Testament. Nonetheless, the typical Psychics, tarot readers, and mediums have been increasingly visible in recent years, with new-age shops popping up in almost every city. While only a few decades ago we would only catch glimpses of fortune tellers on television. It seems that having new-age shops in America has become the norm.
It’s quite common to come across tarot readers online and at the local mall. Many of them are proficient at reading the cards, but locating an individual with an exceptional level of intuition is akin to searching for a needle in a haystack.
Dependence on tarot readers and psychics is risky. If a reader is somewhat precise, questioning the origin of their insights is crucial. Numerous readers claim to collaborate with entities like Archangel Michael, The Holy Spirit and even Jesus. However, this is not the case.
While some readers genuinely believe in these connections, unfortunately, they are also being deceived. Moreover, other tarot readers are simply adept salespeople who utilize various pieces of information to create a narrative that resonates with the customer.
It’s not to suggest that tarot readers and mediums are dishonest or malevolent; in fact, many readers are quite precise and good people. However, if one insists on seeing a reader or a psychic one should proceed with caution as it is a choice and there are consequences to all of our actions.
For instance, Theresa Caputo, known as the Long Island Medium, has gained significant popularity over the last few decades. It is reported that she has a net worth of 3 million dollars. She has earned a considerable sum by allegedly connecting individuals with their departed loved ones. Does she really see and hear dead people like she says she does? Is connecting with our deceased loved ones just that simple?
Mystical Knowledge and Ancient Practices
Mystical knowledge has been preserved throughout the ages, passed down from diverse cultural and traditional sources. Our ancestors, rather than relying on readily available commercial tools, embraced the natural elements that surrounded them in their pursuit of divination.
It’s intriguing to observe that despite this ancient practice, a significant number of people today still allocate substantial resources to acquire tarot cards, seek out psychic readings, purchase crystals, and obtain other items associated with the occult.
The transition from natural elements to commercial products in some spiritual practices brings up significant concerns. Numerous stores selling occult tools often place profit before authentic spiritual advice. It’s crucial to recognize that hiring a tarot reader or buying ritual objects is not essential for understanding our future. We all possess intuition and the capacity to connect; however, once we open ourselves, we become vulnerable to various influences, as does the tarot reader.
There are many valid reasons why Scripture condemns the occult, soothsayers, fortune tellers, and divination. Even setting religion aside, the guidance from the Bible seems quite sensible. From my perspective and experience, avoiding consultation with mediums, tarot readers and the like is a wise decision.
- Deuteronomy 18:10-12 – There shall not be found among you anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD.
