Ch 14 (Ibrahim) is the twin of Ch 13. It begins with the descent of God’s eternal system (kitab) which is meant to bring humankind into the light of civilization. This is considered to be the path of Allah (14/3) and the message of the messengers in their respective languages (14/4)
Next, we see musa being mentioned. He also brings his people from darknesses into the light and fertilises the days of Allah (14/5). He tells his people to be grateful to Allah, meaning to fully utilise what is given to them. Being grateful is linked to establishing the system as it mentioned in 2/152 after a long passage explaining the system (2/122-152, not coincidentally to bani Israil).
This chapter is also unique because it mentions the parable of the wholesome word as the wholesome tree and also the opposite (14/24-27). This again echoes the story of Ibrahim who fulfils the words of his lord (2/122). Musa is himself the one who speaks to Allah (same word, kallama, is used in 4/164).
Another feature of this chapter is the mention of Ibrahim and his settling in the valley without cultivation (passage starts in 14/35). Ibrahim established the house with all the restrictions set by Allah. This passage ends with the tahmeed (feeling of joy, thankfulness to Allah) with the unique mention of Allah being the hearer of prayers (14/39).
