New Material on Faith@Work

New Material on Faith@Work July 22, 2009

At the evangelical portal at Patheos, the conversation continues on Christian faithfulness in the secular work world.  Click here to check it out.

Two articles are especially worth mentioning today.  The first is from one of my best friends, a man of exceptional talents who has been extremely successful at an executive consulting firm.  He writes about the anguish–and the ethics–of having to fire his employees.  It begins thus: “I will fire four people next month, people who performed well and did what they were asked.  One is an immigrant.  Two have children.  Three are in their late 30s and will wonder how to start over.  All four will be stunned.”  Read more.

The second article is my own, on executive compensation.  As the teaser reads, “Top executive can be paid 100s of even 1000s of times more than soldiers and teachers.  This should stop, and Christians should lead the way.”  Read more.
