Let’s Believe Brett Kavanaugh

Let’s Believe Brett Kavanaugh September 28, 2018

Let’s believe Brett Kavanaugh.

For a moment, let’s each of us believe him.

Brett Kavanaugh said he did not assault Dr. Christine Blasey Ford.  And I’ll believe him.  Because Brett Kavanaugh does not believe he did anything wrong.  Because he couldn’t be bothered to remember this woman until she came back into his life.  Because she was just one of many whom he had every right to assault and demean and do “everything but” to – because he was not assaulted, I believe Brett Kavanaugh does not think that he hurt anyone.  It was all in fun.

And he had a lot of fun.  After all: he laughed.

So let’s believe Brett Kavanaugh.

And let’s believe him, too, that he did not get blackout drunk.  And therefore, whatever fun he might have had with women – shoving his virgin penis in their faces, holding them down, keeping them hostage for fun while his frat brothers raped them – that Brett Kavanaugh was fully sober, fully virginal, fully in control of all his actions.  Fully choosing to assault – pardon me, have fun.  And that if he was belligerent, as his hearing showed this non-partisan judge has a wicked temper, that he was belligerent purposely.  Soberly.  With foreknowledge and with choice.

I do believe Brett Kavanaugh.

And I believe him, as well, when he says that he wanted a hearing the next day, before the FBI could get involved.  I absolutely believe him, as he whined and complained, giving us glimpses into the smug teenager that he was, that he would have much preferred to just shove this whole investigation through immediately, and without looking at the evidence.

And I believe this is how he acts as judge as well.  I believe this judge is not interested in due process.

Oh, God.  Do I believe Brett Kavanaugh.

And lastly, I believe him when he says his daughters asked to pray for “that woman,” his victim, the other night.  With all my heart, I believe those little girls prayed for that other woman who also know their father, perhaps after a couple beers, with all the respect he’s shown to women, and all the anger he displayed in Washington.  Yes.  I believe they prayed.

And I do, too.
