PodSplaining and Links

It is a bitterly cold day here in the Northeast, in case you were curious about our weather. We complain about this for a decent amount of time on today’s Podcast and then go on to express our thoughts and feelings about Ukraine and Russia, militant masculinity, and then, because it’s what we do, we talked about some tweets on Twitter and the difference between sharp disagreement and mansplaining. In a twist of fate, I complain about the patriarchy and defend Beth Allison Barr from mean people. It’s all you could possibly expect.

I’m sorry to say I don’t really have very many links because I, like the rest of the world, have been doom scrolling. I had briefly contemplated giving up the doom scroll for Lent, but I don’t know how I will keep up with news about The War if I do. I might have to give up something else, like anxiety (that’s a joke). Maybe this will be another year to buy myself flowers once a week.

There is this, though.

Oh, and this is an interesting piece with which I completely and entirely and totally disagree. But I appreciate the intention behind it, but still, totally disagree. So Much I disagree. Probably the first and only time I will ever disagree with the writer whose stuff I always like, but if anyone had done that to me, I wouldn’t have become a person who writes things.

I’ll be making a huge stack of these tomorrow.

I wish I could visit all of these, but now is probably not the moment.

And here is an excellent sermon and a helpful class.

May God give you the day according to his will, and may he have mercy on all those in harm’s way.
