Saturday on the Fat Free Links

So much to do today. Discovered that the rhubarb has grown up alarmingly and that I need to scrap many of my cleaning plans and cook a lot of it up, or things will turn out very badly.

Speaking of things going badly, here’s the podcast for this week. We argue wildly while making flatbread. Children whining, puppy shrieking, everything you could possibly long for.

And Matt’s sermon from Sunday.

I tried very hard to pay attention to politics and, what was that other thing…, oh, religion! this week, but I kept being distracted by interesting articles like this one about how the scientific community came to accept low fat as more beneficial than low carb. Earlier this year the children and I read a short History of Medicine, a most fascinating endeavor. The whole book was one And-The-Medical-Community-Decided-This-But-Then-One-Single-Person-Fought-Very-Hard-To-OverTurn-What-Was-Not-In-Fact-True after another. The most famous one, of course, is everybody not wanting to wash their hands and the incredible effort it took to prove that washing hands was a good idea.

And because I was obsessively thinking about sugar and carbs, I thought this was fascinating, if true, as well as this.

And tragically that’s all I have because I Have So Much To Do.
