They Are Not Shepherds
Right wing Christians love to make a big deal about putting plaques with the Ten Commandments in schools, parks and government offices. There’s nothing real about this. It’s just a political brickbat. The same religious leaders who excoriate anyone who doesn’t vote to post the Ten Commandments in public places, actively preach and teach against using the Ten Commandments as a means of judging right wing politicians.
Lying, theft, bribery, fraud, corruption, rape, incest, adultery, pornography, and any and all other sins are A-OK in their book as long as the politician is a right wing Republican who votes to give money and power to right wing clergy. These religious leaders are not — absolutely not — Christian religious leaders. They are not shepherds. They are right wing political whores.
Binding On All of Us
When I was in office, I voted to put the Ten Commandments in public places. I had no problems with it. I think there is Constitutional justification for this because the Ten Commandments are the underpinning of Western morality and law.
Unlike right wing whore clergy, I also believe that these Commandments come from God. I believe God is real, and that He is eternal. I believe God made everything, everywhere. I believe Jesus Christ is God. I believe that the Ten Commandments and the Gospels are binding on all of us, even Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and right wing clergy.
The Behavior of Donald Trump
Right wing “Christians” love to post the Ten Commandments everywhere and anywhere. They also love to spit on those Commandments and the God Who gave them to us.
So far as they are concerned, nothing Jesus said matters. They tell us that the Ten Commandments don’t apply to their own behavior or the behavior of Donald Trump, Elon Musk and other right wing politicians.
Jesus Christ is not their god. Their god is power and money. That is what they worship. It is what they obey. And it is what they teach the people in the pews to worship and obey.
Trump is the Lord of Their Lives
These people don’t follow Christ. He’s not their god. They don’t worship Him. They don’t obey Him. They do the exact opposite of what He taught.
They have made a golden calf of Donald Trump and right wing heresies and they bow down and follow him. Trump is the Lord of their lives, not Jesus Christ.
Christianity is not their religion. It’s their club they use to attack other people. There is no end to the religious attacks on women and the verbal degradation of women from right wing Christians. There is no limit to what they will allow Donald Trump to do to anyone he targets. There is no sin right wing politicians can commit that makes these fake Christians gag and say “Enough!”
God is Not Their God
Right wing political Christians are self-righteous, cruel and vicious. They use slander, lies and hate to further their cause. They never speak out for the least of these. Their every utterance is an attack on someone. They use name-calling, outrageous lies and mis-applied Scripture to degrade and attack whole groups of people — women and immigrants in particular — over and over again.
There is nothing — nothing — of Jesus Christ in them or in what they do. God is not their God. Trump and right wing hate is their god.
I don’t think that when we stand before God, He is going to have a list of all the people He hates and wanted us to attack, imprison, degrade and disenfranchise for Him. I doubt that He’s going to say:
“Oh, I see you hated homosexuals, come right in to heaven my faithful servant,
“I see you kept women as second place human beings and you raped them and took away their vote and let them bleed out and die in hospital parking lots. Enter into your reward my beloved,
“I see you got rid of science and let loose pestilence and disease, allowing millions of people to suffer and die when you could have stopped it. Welcome to my banquet,
“I see you freed murderers, and put whole families of the aliens among you in prison and used them for slave labor, oh my good and faithful servant, welcome home.”
Big Shiny Crosses
That is what right wing whore political clergy, including some of our Catholic bishops and priests, are preaching. It is a satanic lie.
The Republican Party, Donald Trump and all the horses they rode in on have become a false god for millions of Americans. Christianity for today’s Republicans is all about performance. It’s about wearing big shiny crosses to public events and then standing up and lying and slandering non-stop. They do not believe in God. If they did, they would never dare to blaspheme in this manner.
You Chose
They are using the name of Jesus to get power for themselves in order to steal the treasury of the United States of America. Their whore clergy are supporting them in this because they are getting a small cut of the action.
I believe without question that Jesus Christ is God. He is my Lord and my Savior.
Jesus Christ is your God. Or Trump is your god. You chose.
I chose Christ.
