I don’t want to belabor the current Epstein situation. At the same time, I would feel remiss if I didn’t point out a few rather obvious things.

1. Trump was president when Epstein died. Trump had control of the Justice Department. Epstein was in a federal prison. It has been revealed that almost 3 minutes of the surveillance tape of Epstein’s cell have been removed. I’m not a detective, but it seems to me that the changes in that tape had to be done by someone who had access to the tape.

The guards who were supposed to be watching Epstein were “asleep.” The charges against them were later dismissed. A “high level” psychiatrist had removed Epstein from suicide watch where he would have been under constant surveillance, and if, say, someone wanted to kill him, it would have been very difficult for them to do.

2. Ghislaine Maxwell almost certainly knows all of this.

3. Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison for her crimes helping Epstein in his trafficking and rape of minors. These girls were raped by some of the most powerful men in the world, almost all of whom have completely gotten away with it. The only person who has gone to prison is Ghislaine Maxwell.

4. There is a lot evidence in the public sphere that Trump’s claim that he “didn’t care” for Epstein is a lie. We have photos, videos and testimony of the two men partying together. They are everywhere on the internet. We have audios in which Epstein said he was Trump’s “closest” friend. We have the sworn deposition on video from a woman who says that Trump raped her when she was 13 years old. We also have a signed court document attesting to the threats she faced to force her silence afterwards. We have the video of Trump’s manager at one of his casinos (which Trump subsequently bankrupted) saying that Epstein and Trump brought women to the casinos after hours.

I could go on for a long time.

5. Trump is a known, convicted,  sexual predator. The judge in the E Jean Carroll case, said on the record that Trump had raped Ms Carroll.  Just about everybody except MAGA believes that Trump is an unrepentant, life-long sexual predator. Trump’s “base” has convinced itself that the 25 women who said Trump sexually assaulted them are all lying. They evidently think that Trump himself was lying or misunderstood or some double-back flip excuse they’ve dreamed up for him when he was recorded bragging about committing sexual assault.

According to MAGA, everybody’s lying but Trump. Everybody.

The rest of us look at it differently.

6. Pam Bondi, Trump’s personal Attorney General, either lied when she said she had the Epstein Files on her desk, or she lied when she said there were no such files, or she’s lying now when she says … whatever she’s saying today.

Pam Bondi was the Attorney General for Florida, beginning in 2011. Why didn’t she file additional charges against Epstein?

7. Epstein first faced criminal investigation in March 2005 when the parents of a 14-year-old girl reported him for assaulting their daughter. Other girls came forward after that.

The federal attorney in Miami, Alexander Acosta, worked out a sweetheart deal with Epstein, allowing him to plead guilty to one charge of soliciting for prostitution. Acosta followed that with an attempt to slash federal anti-trafficking laws.

7. Donald Trump subsequently appointed the same Alexander Acosta, who had set Epstein free, to his cabinet, as Secretary of Labor. When the public became aware of what Acosta had done, Trump defended him. He only had him leave the position when things began to get hot for Trump himself.

8. Trump has a history of appointing people with questionable histories concerning rape and sexual assault to his cabinet.

Pete Hegseth, the Fox News talk-show host Trump picked to head America’s Department of Defense, was charged with rape. The alleged victim subsequently dropped the charges. However, with such extremely ruthless and powerful men, I always assume that there was undue pressure involved. Hegseth has admitted that he paid her off to the tune of $50,000.

Robert Kennedy, Jr, was accused of sexually assaulting his family’s teen-aged babysitter. He subsequently issued a public apology to the woman. Again, we have a powerful, wealthy man and a young victim. I think the possibility of all sorts of undue pressure and influence leveled against the victim is always an issue in these cases.

Linda McMahon proves that it’s not just the men in Trump’s cabinet with appalling morals. McMahon, who is Trump’s Secretary of Education, and her husband, Ed McMahon, run World Wrestling Entertainment, which, I guess, both Trump and the Republicans in the Senate think qualifies her to take apart America’s education system. McMahon and her husband were sued by 5 former employees of WWE, for enabling sex trafficking of children.

Matt Gaetz, Trump’s first pick for Attorney General, was accused of sex trafficking and sex with a minor. He was also found to be an illegal drug user. His associate in this activity is now serving time in a federal prison for this crime. Once again, powerful men walk free.

The list goes on, but you get the idea. It appears that Trump not only has a lot of women who say he  sexually assaulted them, he has an affinity for putting other sexual predators into the most powerful positions in our government.

9. Meanwhile, 1,000 FBI personnel in Trump’s Justice Department are reported to be busily going through the Epstein Files, cleansing them of any mention of Trump. Because they already knew Trump is in the files.

Let’s just stop and think for a moment.

Pretend you’re Ghislaine Maxwell. Pretend you are in prison for 20 long years. Pretend you believe that Jeffrey Epstein didn’t commit suicide.

Pretend you think that Epstein was murdered. Pretend that you know there are videos of powerful men raping kids in the Epstein file. Pretend that you know a lot about Donald Trump.

Pretend that you’re the kind of evil woman who would find and set up children to be raped by powerful men.

Consider what you would think when the most powerful people in the Justice Department travel 700 miles to the prison where you are being held to have a little chat.

Consider that this “Justice” Department is headed by someone who took a pass on prosecuting Epstein when she had the chance, and has lied to the American people about the Epstein file.

Consider that the same Donald Trump who was president when Epstein died is president again, and he’s running this country like a third world dictatorship.

Consider that Trump’s absolute rule is in danger because he’s catching a lot of heat from his base over his friendship with Epstein.

Think about all that.

If you were Ghislaine Maxwell, what would you do?
