Monday: How many people do you have to kill before you’re not pro life anymore?

Two months ago today, these little girls were happy and alive. They were safe at church camp. Then, the flood came. If the directors of the camp had been warned, they could have closed the camp. That’s what people do here in tornado alley when storms are coming. We close things down. There is no school, businesses let out early, and we hunker down.

If the warning systems had worked the way they are supposed to, these little girls would not have drowned because they wouldn’t have been there when the flood came.

If they had been warned.

But Trump cut the warning systems to give tax cuts to billionaires. He shifted money away from FEMA which helps Americans dig back out from disasters like this. He is continuing in this, even after the tragedy in Texas. Trump is still using FEMA money to build more concentration camps like Alligator Alcatraz. In fact, Alligator Alcatraz itself was built with funds that were originally supposed to go to FEMA.

Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” guts both NOAA and FEMA. In a move that mocks the suffering of his own constituents, Texas Senator Ted Cruz was the one who made sure that weather forecasting was slashed in the bill.

These beautiful, precious little girls were sacrificed on the altar of billionaire greed and hatred of hispanics. Ultimately, they were sacrificed on the altar of Trump worship, of people who back Trump, no matter what he does, who believe him no matter how ridiculous his lies.
