The last 24 hours have given We the People a dramatic view of the contrast between two Americas.
Artemis II and the three astronauts aboard it gave the world our first look at the “dark” side of the moon. They traveled further from our fragile home than any human beings have ever traveled before.
One decision they made was especially touching. They decided to name a crater on the dark side of the moon Carroll after the wife of astronaut Reid Wiseman. Carroll Wiseman died of cancer in 2020.
Artemis II’s journey, the brave astronauts aboard the ship, and the genuine human kindness and love of this gesture toward their bereaved comrades’ dead wife is like a trip in the Way Back Machine. It gave us a look at the America that used to be, before we handed our country over to Donald Trump, the billionaire bros and their stooges in Congress.
The other America, the one the Trump regime has given us, was also on display.
The “ceasefire” in Iran was and is a rout for everyone but Iran. As of this writing, the Strait of Hormuz is still closed. The attacks on Lebanon continue. Iran is continuing to release propaganda taunting Trump.

Trump himself is roaming around the White House like a Mad King from a Shakespearean tragedy. He is blasting out threats against NATO, talking about re-starting the Iran war, and also — I kid you not — renewing his old threats against Greenland.
To paraphrase the title of an old book and subsequent movie about World War I, all is not quiet on the Eastern Front.
I don’t know how this is going to turn out. Can we save America from the forces of evil that have overtaken it? Can we get our free, sane, prosperous America back?
Hopefully, America can get out of the idiotic war that Trump started without him doing any more damage to us than he already has. But even if that happens, my guess is that he’ll slam us into another Trump-created crisis before we can draw a single breath of peace.
I don’t, as I said, know how things will turn out, either in the short term or the long term. But there is one thing I know without doubt, and it clarifies everything else.
God is not a God of lies, bribes, extortion, killing, rape, and sadistic cruelty. I know that because I have encountered the Living God. I base my actions on the knowledge that only God is God, and He is Good, and I’m not Him.
I do not believe that anyone can follow both Donald Trump and Jesus Christ. It is not possible. One of them is the Way that leads to eternal life. The other one is on the road to hell.
We are free to choose who we will follow. I choose Christ.
Knowing that gives me peace. I don’t have internal conflicts about what I should do. Opposing the rapacious evil of this regime is the right thing to do.
