I know, I know. I have been missing as of late. I went to my sister Liz’s wedding in Michigan (yay Liz and Joe!).

And then I spent some time in my hometown of Tulsa, OK (the best city in the world in case you were wondering).

I was able to deliver a short talk after all the Masses at my home parish about The Prodigal You Love and I signed books for people. It was a great success and I was so happy to meet so many good folks.

Anyway I have been having fun.

But I also hope you have been enjoying the guest posts.

Some highlights:

  • Greg Hurst wrote a piece on loneliness that got over 4 thousand likes. Wow. Check it out.
  • One of my favorite guest posters, Charles Beard, an aspiring deacon, father and member of the Catholic Worker movement, wrote a post about being a radical, and not just saying you are a radical. I think that post was for me.
  • Father Anthony Gerber wrote about the SCOTUS same-sex marriage decision with compassion and courage. Pray for him, he was one of the brave priests who spoke about this topic from the pulpit. In fact, his guest post was the homily that he delivered.

Also, some news.

I will be in Des Moines, Iowa next weekend.

Where: Christ the King Parish

When: July 18, 19, and 2oth

I will speak after all the Masses that weekend as well. I will also give talks on Sunday July 19th and Monday July 20th, at 7PM both nights.

If you live in the area, please come out and see me. And if you don’t live in the area please pray for me as I prepare for my talks. I would really appreciate it!

Oh, and look out for a blog post from me on Monday about the SCOTUS ruling. I’ve been thinking and praying a lot about these things. The blogging world sometimes moves too fast for contemplative responses to any current events. It can drive me crazy. But I am trying to take my time in responding, not only because I am busy with other things, but because I think it’s a good way to handle life. I don’t want the pressures of blogging to turn me into a reactionary who only writes about what she thinks instead of what she thinks after prayer, which is usually very different.

Peace to my readers, sending you love and prayers!
