Another Reminder to Avoid Conflict with Romans 12:21

Another Reminder to Avoid Conflict with Romans 12:21 2022-04-07T01:47:02-05:00

On this day, I’m grateful for many things, especially the wisdom God never hesitates to share with me when He knows I need it.

I used to work in a food service job, and at that time, I was dreading my first every Black Friday behind the counter. This job was one of the things that made me realize how little patience I actually have, especially in the face of foul-mouthed customers who took to snapping at us over the most inane things. I told God irritably that night that I already felt ready to snap back at any customer who would try to demean me like that, and that I’d have no qualms yelling if they yelled at me first.

Once again, God stepped in to remind me that a good temper is immensely valuable. Lo and behold, this was the passage my daily Bible app gave me:

“Do not be overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good.”

Romans 12:21

As He knows, they really aren’t worth it, especially when I could’ve easily faced losing my job as a consequence. God stopped me from making a nasty mistake, and I greatly appreciate Him reminding me about the value of self-restraint.

Yet another perfectly timed reminder from God to watch what I say. He definitely knew I needed it.
