Our family has continuously sponsored a number of children through Compassion for over 30 years, since our daughters were small (I believe they were six and four when we first started!). Today, May 21, is Ascension Day. A reader asked me, “I hear talk about Christ’s death and resurrection, but seldom about his ascension. I listened to this video with a recording of Ravi Zacharias and astronomer Hugh Ross, who were guests on Ohio State University’s radio program. It was recorded in 1994, but what both of them have to share and how they answer questions from callers, many of them antagonistic toward Christianity, is timeless. Isaiah 52:7 says, “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness” (ESV). Here God tells us directly that as His followers, our mission is bringing everyone the “good news of happiness” about Jesus.
