Call For PTCS Blog Submissions

Call For PTCS Blog Submissions November 13, 2015

The changes here on the Post-Traumatic Church Syndrome blog are not limited to the great new header (thanks, Patheos team!): As of this month, the PTCS blog is becoming a collective.

My goal, both with my memoir Post-Traumatic Church Syndrome and with this blog, is to host a conversation about the very real condition of spiritual injury I call PTCS, and the many, MANY paths to healing.

Since a conversation needs more than one voice, I have asked several new contributors to post regularly (see information about them here), and will be accepting submissions for from other sources.

If you have a story of hope, healing or inspiration, an insight about spiritual growth/finding peace, or are an expert in a healing field and have excellent advice to offer, and you would like to be considered for publication on the PTCS blog collective, please review the guidelines below.

The guidelines are as follows:

Content

Anything that relates to the topics of spiritual/overall well-being/health, healing and life transformation. Some examples would include: forgiveness, letting go, moving on, personal stories from your own life. Keep in mind that the readers of this blog are generally Christian-leaning or post-Christian (not that your approach has to be; we welcome all paths). Many to most feel that they are healing in some way. Posts should be inspiring, thought-provoking, uplifting. Bonus points for humor. 🙂

Length

500 to 1000 words (prefer 500-800)

  • Our most effective posts fall in the 500 to 1000 range; greater length may be too long to hold a reader’s attention.

Submission

  • Email edited and proofread post in Word Document format to Rebecca@rebariley.com with the subject header “PTCS BLOG SUBMISSION”
  • Include name and short bio as you would like it to appear, along with any email address and/or links to website or social media accounts.
  • Attach a headshot photo if you want one to appear with the post (you must own the rights to publish this photo)
  • We may not be able to respond to all submissions
  • If your piece is chosen, you will be notified of the date of publication

We look forward to lifting up new voices for healing!

Love,

Reba
