When I was at the Catholic Writers Conference a few weeks back, I was given a huge stack of books to read and review. Some were good, some were not so much, and some I enjoyed so much that I’m giving them away to my readers because I just have to share them.
A Catholic Mother’s Companion to Pregnancy by Sarah Reinhard is one of these.
I read this book earlier this week from cover to cover, and loved it. It has become my new favorite pregnancy gift to give! Often funny, always thoughtful, this book is the close Catholic girlfriend we all wish we had. Sarah manages to weave funny anecdotes, serious discussions, ans scientific information together and then place them alongside the Mysteries of the Rosary in a way which is beautifully profound.
Weekly prayers for the safety and well-being of the baby and mother, references to the Catechism, and a deeply Catholic point of view set off by a joyous sense of humor make this book a must-read for any Catholic woman who is expecting.
Lucky for you, I have one to give away! Just leave me a comment in the com box between now and Sunday morning. I’ll randomly select one to get a free copy. The rest of you should consider picking up a copy or two…for yourself, your friends, your family, or the parish library.
