You’re Kidding Me…Right?

You’re Kidding Me…Right? 2014-08-22T15:48:24-05:00

We were upstairs in the playroom with the kids, laughing and teasing #2 that he has the same ADD as his mother and brother.  After listening for a moment, #4 piped up and asked, “What’s dyslexia? Doesn’t (#2) have dyslexia, too?”

“It’s when the letters on the page turn around backwards and upside down and make it really hard to read,” I explained.

“Oh,” she said. “That’s what that’s called?  I have that.”

“You do?” I asked.

“Yes.  That’s why I’m slow when I read.  I have to stop and wait for the letters to turn the right way.”

“And you didn’t think that this was something that the person who teaches you might need to know?”

“Well….no…because you never asked me…”

Tonight I’m calling a family meeting.  It’s going to be called “Is there anything else I need to know that you people aren’t telling me?”

I’ll keep you posted.
