3 1/2 Time Outs — Shameless Bragging

1.
#1 got her grades for College Algebra today.  I guess she did alright….if an A is alright!  Wooo-hoooo!

I don’t know that it’s possible for me to be any prouder of my girl who has never gone to a “real” school and yet kicked some booty at the local college.

2.
After 3 years of work, tears, frustration, and defeat (one of those years in public school)…#3 has grasped the concept of rounding numbers.  He spent an entire year (I’m not even exaggerating…I have the worksheets) working on only this concept with a Special Ed teacher to no avail.  Monday I had an idea of how to approach it from a new angle, and Shazzam!  He got it.

After Christmas, we’re moving on to the concept of multiplication…which baffles him.

3.
I’m working on getting my name out there and to build a platform for myself from which to launch my book (whether with the publisher who has it, another one, or self-publishing — I need a platform from which to launch it).  I had a very nice phone conversation with a prominent politician last week (can’t say who…yet), took a call from the booking agent for a national radio show (again…mum’s the word), and have been putting out feelers for speaking gigs. [If you need a speaker — I’m your girl!  Blog readers get a discount.  🙂   ]
