My husband told our children that if they could catch one of the wild bunnies in our neighborhood they could keep it as a pet. Most of my kids rolled their eyes and ignored him, but #’s 4, 5, and 6 have taken him up on the challenge.

They’ve been at it fr the past 4 hours – planning traps, getting a box ready to house their new pet, and scouting for bunny holes. They finally found a burrow twenty minutes ago and are lying in wait to pounce on their new beloved pet.

Around lunchtime, the older boys got wind of what was going on and Went outside to watch the proceedings.

There have been a dozen or so trips back into the house for boxes, string, nd carrots of course. But other than that, the house is blissfully quiet. I’ve finished organizing the pantry and am considering a nap. Why didn’t we send them on a bunny hunt weeks ago?

I’m just hoping they don’t actually manage to get their hands on one. Next time, I’m sending them hunting for snipe.
