I have to admit that I knew it was coming. He told me a few months ago that he was thinking of walking away and leaving it all behind, and I (along with a few others) convinced him to stay.
“I’ll miss you.” I told him. “You’re my daily laugh and my writing friend. How can you leave?”
He said something about family and spending time with them and a bunch of other stuff I worked really hard to not hear. He was being hasty and needed to rethink it. He needed a sabbatical, a vacation, a trip to visit gurus in Nepal….something….
Last week he said it again, and this time we knew he was serious.
After 5 1/2 years of being the USO for the Church Militant, LarryD is closing up shop over at Acts of the Apostasy. He wants to spend more time with his wife and children, and maybe get around to writing that book that his friends are forever telling him to write.
While I’m excited for him and know it was a decision made after much prayer and discernment, the interwebs will be a little less-funny without him here. I’m going to miss him.
LarryD,
Good luck, my friend, in all you do. I’m here and still praying for you.
Send me a copy of that book when you finish it. I can’t wait to read it. (I’d better get the first review.)
