Netflix has released a new clip of its upcoming Ryan Reynolds-led sci-fi epic “The Adam Project,” underscoring the film’s strong message about father-son relationships. The film, about a man who travels from the future and recruits a younger version of himself to save the world, releases Friday on the streaming service and also features Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner, Walker Scobell, Catherine Keener, and Zoe Saldaña.

In the clip, Young Adam (Scobell) speaks with his mother (Ellie Reed) after being suspended from school for fighting. “Do you care about your future?” she asks him. “You better start caring. Because the future is coming, sooner than you think.”
“The Adam Project” was directed by Shawn Levy and written by Jonathan Tropper and T.S. Nowlin & Jennifer Flackett & Mark Levin. It premieres Friday on Netflix.
