Same Kind of Different As Me, the film starring Greg Kinnear and Renee Zellwegger based on the bestselling book by Ron Hall and Denver Moore, is releasing to home video next month. After a box office run that netted $6.5 million and promoted by Christian film company Pure Flix, the film will be available on digital outlets Feb. 9 and on DVD and Blu-Ray on Feb. 20 from Paramount Pictures. I spoke to Ron Hall last year prior to the release of the film and it is quite an extraordinary story. I thought the film was well produced and others who I viewed it with visibly moved and spoke highly of it.

Same Kind of Different As Me follows successful art dealer Hall (Kinnear, Heaven Is For Real) and his wife Debbie (Zellweger, Bridget Jones’s Diary), who seemingly have the perfect life. But when their faith and family are tested, an unlikely bond with a homeless drifter (Djimon Hounsou, Blood Diamond) leads them on a remarkable journey that forges an everlasting friendship.Same Kind of Different As Me shows how a simple act of kindness can change everything.
The Blu-ray includes over an hour of behind-the-scenes bonus content, including deleted and extended scenes, featurettes, and commentary by director Michael Carney, writer Ron Hall and writer Alexander Foard. The DVD includes the feature film only.
