Playtime

Playtime

I’ll be honest. When I got home, I was a little mentally exhausted. I’d been behind on some things so I tried to work in warp speed to make sure deadlines are met. I had dinner and then we said goodbye to Mommy, who had book club. Then it was me and Natalie.

We were downstairs. She was playing and I was finishing up some laundry. When I got caught up, I sat on the couch and watched her play for a moment. She is pretty good about keeping herself occupied. One of her favorite things to do is hide in her tent.

I reached for the remote control and something stopped me. I thought, “Would I ever regret not seeing what’s on the television right now? Years from now, when she’s too old to crawl into her tent, would I ever wish I had this moment back in case I missed an entertaining TV show or movie?”

Of course not.
