Grammy-winning gospel legend CeCe Winans is inviting listeners back to the timeless roots of Christian worship with her newest project, The Hymns. Speaking at the K-Love Awards, Winans told Reel Faith the heart behind the project: “The foundation to me of the church and it’s so important that we continue to connect the younger generation. So, I mean, I love contemporary music, but there’s nothing more powerful than the hymns. It’s very simple because I didn’t really want to bother anything. So it’s really simple as just my voice with the piano and the power of those songs. I pray will heal, save, and set for you.”
“The Hymns” arrives as a deliberate anchor in an ever-changing cultural landscape. Drawing from the camp meetings of the early church, grand cathedrals, and humble front-porch sing-alongs, these songs have shaped generations of believers.
