Reverend James Ishmael Ford is a Zen Buddhist teacher, author, and Unitarian Universalist minister. James earned his BA in psychology from Sonoma State University and MA in Philosophy of Religion from the Pacific School of Religion. James has reflected on the nondual expression of Zen Buddhism in many books, blogs, and articles. He has led a spiritual path for more than fifty years. James continues to lead Zen groups focused on the gifts of Zen meditation, retreat, and the koan introspection discipline passed on through the Harada-Yasutani lineage.
He advises other writers to “set up a writing schedule and try hard to keep to it. A variation that works for some people is to give yourself a set number of words to write a week. This is how I started writing. Again, a reasonable number of words. Reasonable by your estimation.”
