The episide begins with a flashback of Eko’s childhood. He breaks into a locked storeroom. Eko is told by a nun that he is a sinner, but Eko protests that Yemi was hungry. Then, on the island, Eko sees Yemi, who tells him that it is time to confess, to be judged. In flashbacks, we also see other details we had seen before, and then Eko being returned to the church after Yemi was shot and the plane took off.... Read more

I shared a long quote from Mike Beidler a while back, and a discussion occurred about how important his point was, but also how wordy, and thus not meme-friendly. Mike kindly boiled his point down to the above Most Interesting Man in the World meme, and I think it does the job very nicely. Compare it to the original and let me know what you think!   Read more

The God of Evolution Facebook page shared the above image. It reflects the tactic to which the anti-science crowd, and other so-called Biblical literalists, have to resort in their attempt to dupe people. Depending on whether you think the figure on the left is supposed to be Satan, or just a mere human being, the tactic that many conservative Christians use is to depict their viewpoint as “what God says,” making whatever one says in disagreement with them at best “mere... Read more

The episode begins with Desmond offering to fix Claire’s roof. Later he makes a lightning rod and it is hit by lightning, and would have hit where Claire, Charlie, and Aaron are. Jack is kept watching cartoons. Juliette claims that Ben isn’t in charge, that they make decisions together, but Jack isn’t persuaded, especially when Ben comes in and tells Juliette to come with him. Jack, in essence, uses the same tactic that Ben did when he was a prisoner... Read more

Hemant Mehta drew attention to a new Bible that is soon to be released: The Unofficial Holy Bible for Minecrafters: A Children’s Guide to the Old and New Testament. I’m not sure what the “official” Holy Bible for Minecrafters would be, as opposed to this unofficial one. But it will be interesting to take a look at this, and to compare it with things like The Brick Bible. Read more

This episode begins with John Locke’s eye, as he wakes up in the jungle after the hatch explosion. We see Desmond run by, naked. Eko’s scripture stick falls from a tree. Locke has lost his voice. But through signs, he indicates to Charlie that he needs to speak to the island. He finds a pen and a lad of paper, and asks Charlie for help, to stand guard at a sweat lodge. Charlie asks John if the paste he has... Read more
