Anyone who has gone to this year’s Yuletide Celebration at the Hilbert Circle Theater in Indianapolis will have heard this arrangement of the classic carol by Alex De Pue, not with hammered dulcimer, but rather orchestrated for and performed by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra with the violin solo part played by Alex’s brother, the ISO concertmaster Zach De Pue (or at one performance Michelle Kang substituted).
