I miss pretty Radiohead. "Bulletproof … I Wish I Was" is gorgeous in a way that much of their more experimental, difficult-listening recent material seems to avoid being.
I mentioned last week that I'm a big-time Lost Dogs fan, and that's demonstrated here in a list with two of their tunes, plus one more from Terry Taylor. The "Bullet Train" video captures much of what I like about this bunch — not just because it's a nice crunchy blues song, but because it's not every day you see an anti-gun song performed at an evangelical megachurch in Texas.
We had an interesting discussion here a few years back about the XTC song "Dear God" and whether such a song constitutes an actual prayer or if its prayerlike form is just a literary device. If we wanted to have round two of that conversation, we could do the same thing with "Bullet With Butterfly Wings."
