Albertson’s bakery refused to make a cake with these words on it

Albertson’s bakery refused to make a cake with these words on it September 9, 2016

The bakery at a Louisiana Albertson’s grocery store refused a request by a customer to decorate a birthday cake with “Trump 2016” because everything is offensive now.

Seventeen-year-old Mckenzie Gill asked the baker to make an American flag cake for her Donald Trump-themed birthday but the woman behind the counter said she would not write “Trump” over the top. Gill said she wanted the cake because she’s not just celebrating her birthday, but her first vote ever and Trump is someone she really looks up to.

Gill and her mother left the store and found another bakery that would complete the request. Gill posted the location of the store and a quick complaint to Facebook:

Once word got around to Albertson’s, a spokesperson released the following statement with a highly unlikely excuse for why the phrase was refused:

“We apologize to our customer in Bossier City for the situation regarding the cake that was requested. Our Bakery staff member misunderstood the training provided regarding copyrighted phrases, and incorrectly informed the customer we could not fulfill her request. We would be happy to provide the cake as the customer requested.”

Copyrighted phrases?! Yeah, that’s what it was! Too bad the store lost a sale!

This is getting ridiculous! Perhaps when he’s elected president, Trump will also make America bake again!
