Is God in the House of Representatives? This Congresswoman Says Yes! October 7, 2016

There’s a lot to like about Congresswoman Virginia Foxx from North Carolina. In fact, we share a lot in common.

She was born in the Bronx like me, born into extreme poverty to parents without any formal education. She’s a powerful woman of Roman Catholic faith like me. She’s a good freedom-loving Republican like me.

Having served as a Republican member of the House of Representatives since 2005 representing the fine folks of North Carolina, she is out with a new book, God Is in the House with numerous stories about how faith impacts the work and lives of our men and women who serve in Congress.

There’s a lot to learn from Rep. Foxx – Check out this interview she did with Shannon Bream on Fox News discussing her book.

I love that Rep. Foxx talks about being in Bible studies with other members of Congress even if they are Democrats who differ on a lot of things.

I love that Rep. Foxx talks about “God things” happening in her life, like being in Congress, having the opportunity to meet people who could help her write this book.

She talks about listening to the words of God to have more people get involved in the political process.

Books and stories like this are important to remind us of the importance of faith in our country, across racial lines, across socioeconomic lines, across regions and even political parties.
