Comedian Dave Chappelle sent shockwaves through his audience at a stand-up performance over the weekend when he slammed Hillary Clinton and called Donald Trump “the most gangsta candidate ever.”
It’s not often a celebrity is bold enough to make this position public. Of Clinton, Chappelle said:
“She’s going to be on a coin someday and her behavior has not been coin-worthy. She’s not right and we all know she’s not right.”
Then on Trump:
“Here’s how you know Trump is the most gangsta candidate ever. They asked him how he knows the system is rigged and he said, ‘Because I take advantage of it.’ He may as well have flashed his membership card for the Illuminati right then.”
He even went straight for the liberal establishment’s jugular by speaking against transgender activists who argue that the fight for LGBT rights is no different than what blacks have fought for:
“They should not be having that conversation in front of black people. You go ahead and feel something about your rights. But if you’re putting sexism and homophobia and transphobia in front of racism, you should be ashamed of yourself.”
In the end, Chappelle still pulled the trigger and early-voted for Clinton even though he said he wasn’t happy about it. However, Chappelle pushed the knife in further, complaining that LGBT spokesperson Caitlyn Jenner might appear nude in Sports Illustrated. “Sometimes I just want to read some stats,” he said.
