Uncle Ranty Tweeter-Pants is at it again.
So let’s set the scene.
On Sunday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo addressed Iranian counter-protesters, who have taken to the streets in their nation, to protest to oppressive theocratic government.
Pompeo further spoke about Iranian leadership, referring to them as “hypocritical holy men,” and making comparisons between them and the mafia.
He’s not far off the mark, actually.
Iran stands as a stark example of why theocracies do not work. The counter-protesters in the streets now are a result.
Hot tip, guys: True faith starts in the home. Our homes are the fertile ground from which societies grow, either good or bad. If you attempt to legislate faith, you get a push back, eventually.
Secretary Pompeo went on to call on others to stand with the Iranian protesters in a supportive role.
So how do you imagine the leadership of Iran took it?
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani responded shortly after:
“America should know that peace with Iran is the mother of all peace, and war with Iran is the mother of all wars,” Rouhani told a group of diplomats.
Seriously, dude. When was the last time anyone outside of equally-maniacal nations enjoyed any sort of “peace” with Iran?
What would that even look like?
You bozos have been off the chain since 1979. You wouldn’t know peace if it strolled up to your front door with a big bouquet of daisies and a muffin platter.
Any nation that routinely spews hate and talk of murder towards another nation, simply because that nation exists is not interested in peace.
Yes. I’m talking about Iran’s attitude towards Israel, and if any of you are followers of Biblical prophecy, you know Iran will take its shot, eventually.
And Donald Trump’s idiotic tweets will be the very least of their worries.
Just sayin’…
But back to the present and this escalation of the asinine – we can blame former President Obama for giving in to this den of thugs.
Obama, as faithless as they come, struck a dead end deal with the Iranian government on his way out the White House door.
Leading an international agreement, President Obama released the purse strings that had kept a hateful regime somewhat tethered, lifting sanctions in return for Iran agreeing to curb their nuclear ambitions.
First of all, Iran issues threats against Israel and the United States 24/7. That’s a non-starter. At least, it should have been, but I always got the idea that President Obama didn’t really mind when nations breathed threats against Israel (or the U.S.).
For my fellow conservatives, likewise disgusted by the age of Trumpism, if you’re tempted to drift into bouts of nostalgia for Barack Obama, you are in error.
The age of principled leadership in Washington, long struggling, gasped and gave up the ghost on January 20, 2009.
History is already recalling the presidency of George W. Bush with bipartisan fondness – something few thought would ever happen.
For all of his missteps as president, Bush 43 was a decent and rational human being.
What we’re dealing with now is neither decent nor rational.
As if there was something going on that required distraction, Trump began lashing out on social media Sunday evening.
In a tweet, written in all caps and directed explicitly at Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Trump wrote: “Never, ever threaten the United States again or you will suffer consequences the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered before. We are no longer a country that will stand for your demented words of violence & death. Be cautious!”
I’m going to assume a catchy nickname for Rouhani is forthcoming.
To Iranian President Rouhani: NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE. WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!

And by now, we know how this scene plays out.
One of the top commanders with Iran’s Revolutionary Guards had a response to Trump’s Twitter rant, likening it to psychological warfare.
Yeah. Trump isn’t that advanced. He’s just fever tweeting and desperate.
Gholamhossein Gheybparvar said America wants to “destroy Iran,” but Trump “cannot do a damn thing,” Reuters reported, citing Iranian news agency ISNA.
“We will never abandon our revolutionary beliefs,” Gheybparvar added, according to the news service. “We will resist pressure from enemies.”
“America wants nothing less than (to) destroy Iran,” he continued. “Trump cannot do a damn thing against Iran.”
Let’s give it about six months. Trump will call for a summit with Rouhani. Rouhani will compliment his tie during a private session. Trump will emerge to call Rouhani a wonderful person and strong leader, while doubling Obama’s generous allowance, and saying it’s in the interest of peace.
Obama 2.0 strikes again.
