Oh, you’re not interesting, sorry

Oh, you’re not interesting, sorry August 19, 2005

I read this and it reminded me of what I heard as I was driving today. Flipping channels I fell on Sean Hannity, whom I do not ordinarily listen to (way too yappy and repetetive). What caught my ear was his condolence to a gentleman who said he had buried his son at Arlington in May. Hannity was talking to a man and a woman, both of whom have lost their sons in Iraq. And they said that they have been contacted by msm to discuss their loss, “but they’re always disappointed to discover that we supported our son’s decision, and the president’s and once they learn that, they don’t have any further questions for us, or interest in our son.”

That’s pretty sad. Not surprising, really. But sad. Sorry, kid. You might have been an interesting hero if we could get some anti-war-Bush-hating mileage out of your death, but without that angle, you’re simply not worth noticing.
