I feel like I let you all down…

… I am not going to Rome or Malta. At least not any time soon. I held out hope that conditions would improve. Even when the first week of my trip went up in smoke, pun intended, I clung optimistically to the dream of going to Rome during my originally scheduled time.

My flight was cancelled and I was too hesitant to rebook. I used the best judgement I had at the time and decided to wait till the dust settles, literally.

But in the meantime, so many of you sent me your prayer requests. Even worse, parted with your money in good faith that I would be making a pilgrimage. You were genuinely as excited as I was.

That is what makes this so devastating for me. I feel your disappointed weighted with my own. I will get to Rome, I just don’t know when. My classes are starting after the summer and there will be no time for me to take a trip like this again for at least another year. It was now or never, no exaggeration.
