Anne Rice is quitting “Christianity” after she reverted to Catholicism from Atheism… what, yesterday.
Rice said she was “out”. “In the name of Christ, I refuse to be anti-gay. I refuse to be anti-feminist. I refuse to be anti-artificial birth control. I refuse to be anti-Democrat. I refuse to be anti-secular humanism. I refuse to be anti-science. I refuse to be anti-life. In the name of Christ, I quit Christianity and being Christian. Amen,” the author wrote. “But following Christ does not mean following His followers [or His Church???]. Christ is infinitely more important than Christianity and always will be, no matter what Christianity is, has been, or might become.”
I’m sorry but it doesn’t sound like she was “Christian” to begin, most certainly not a revert to Catholicism.
I’m waiting for Tony Blair to make a similar statement. Fr. Z has Oprah converting to one of us. Oh my. So much drama!
