Isaak Levitan is considered one of the finest landscape painters in Russian Art and he was decidedly unpretentious in the subjects for his paintings. He remained faithful to simple poetic motifs of his native land. Natural simplicity and composition was the hallmark of Levitan’s artistic genius.
