John Stott Passes, Leaving Behind a Legacy for Younger Evangelicals

John Stott Passes, Leaving Behind a Legacy for Younger Evangelicals 2012-01-26T14:59:38-08:00

Pastor and theologian John Stott passed away today at the age of 90. The more I read him, the more I am blessed that he made room for some of us younger evangelicals to wrestle with many difficult theological issues of our day. He believed: evolution and Scripture are compatible, in a conditional immortality view rather than the traditional view of hell, in justice issues, and creation care… just to name a few.

Last year, I received a free copy of Stott’s final book, The Radical Disciple. In this short Video Blog, I explored the major ideas of one chapter in particular called “Creation Care.” As a tribute to his passing into glory, I want to share this with you again. This short video is just one example of his amazing contribution to the broader evangelical conversation.

***I accidentally said “2015” when citing a statistic that should actually be “2050” when the estimated population growth will be at 9.5 Billion people.
