The Protection In Faith

The Protection In Faith November 6, 2021

There is a protection in the Christian faith which is made up of beliefs, principles and values. These beliefs, principles and values are advised by the church of Christ as good for living. When we go by the advice of the faith, we give ourselves a covering from mistakes, hurt and harm. The beliefs, principles and values of the Christian faith has been tried, tested and proven true by time. They are traditional and conventional.

In obedience to them, one gets particular results and in disobedience to them, one gets particular results which are most times, negative. Modernity suggests new ways of doing things to society even though the standard way of living will always stand true. Erring from the faith has consequences which exposes us to numerous negativities. This goes to show that adhering to the faith is indeed a form of protection in itself.

Everything that christianity supports, teaches and upholds can be collectively referred to as ‘the faith’. Tenets of the Christian faith is in the word of God, in the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, in the teachings of the church and many more.. They are not suggestive or advisory in any way, God commands us to obey Him. However, a closer look will reveal that He does not intend to be primarily dictating or dogmatic. His motive for giving us commandments in the first place is for our protection.

In other words, the Christian faith is a covering, a safety manual, a user’s guide and instruction manual on how to get the best out of life. When we stray from the faith, we expose ourselves to destructive forces that are outside the faith.

1 Timothy 6:10 – ” For the love of money is the root of all evil which while some coveted after, they erred from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows”

Abiding or rather, living by the faith helps us stay focused on God and things pertaining to Him. If our passions gets more directed to something or someone else, it never turns out well. God is advised to be our top priority in life, it is only with Him as No.1, can every other thing fall into its right place. Nothing and no one can meet our expectations of perfection except God. Nothing and no one can handle all of our attentive energy except God. Stay focused on the faith, prioritize God above every other thing in your life and every other thing will fall into place.

Remaining and staying loyal to the faith establishes order in our lives. Being focused on God and putting Him first in our lives also establishes first order, stability, control and progress. As a Christian, the questions you should ask yourself are: “Have I ever compromised on my Christian faith?”, “Have I ever gone against the teachings of the church as a result of modernity, peer pressure or other societal factors?”. If yes, “How do I repent of my transgressions?”.

When you decide to take your daily walk with God seriously and stop doing it out of routine or religion, God will take everything that concerns you more seriously. It is the energy that you give God that He returns back to you in His own way. God is real, so real. Until you become serious with Him, you will never find out.
