Love

Love

I have such an issue with people misusing the word love. Love requires sacrifice, love changes you, love is as ordered as the moon and the sun and the waves of the ocean, love has a purpose and it’s not to make you feel warm and fuzzy all the time, love is real and objective, love is not fluffy bullshit people put on pretty backgrounds to share on Facebook. Love is Jesus hanging on a Cross bleeding with his face disfigured and naked. Love is not doing what “makes you happy”, love is the cross that leads *to* happiness. Love is a choice and a feeling, if you’re lucky, you will feel loving but even when you don’t, you still love. Love begins with loving God as He is, not as you make Him for yourself to be comfortable because love is not always comfortable. It is dramatic, painful and soothing all at the same time. Love has rules, not for rules sake but for our sake. Until we stop using fluffy words and fluffy stories and fluffy sayings all trying to convince ourselves that love is just some feel good feeling like shooting yo heroine, we will not have peace because peace means living in truth.
