Patheos Pagan on the Road

Patheos Pagan on the Road January 23, 2019

A lot of us who write here at Patheos Pagan will be on the road at various Pagan festivals and events in February and March. While we are all out and about, come say hi, attend a workshop, or pick up a book. We’d love to see you! And we really do love talking to readers. If you weren’t here, we probably wouldn’t be either!

San Jose CA, February 15-

PantheaCon is the biggest Pagan days-long gathering in North America, and most likely the world. Every year 2500 Pagans, Heathens, Witches, and Polytheists takeover the DoubleTree hotel in Silicon Valley for a long weekend of workshops, rituals, shopping, partying, and all sorts of other things. (Tempest and Jason are rather sure that there will be whisky, your results will vary.) Most years Pcon hosts up to a dozen different Patheos Pagan writers, and this year is pretty much the same.

Phoenix and Gwion will also be in the Merch Room with goodies from their store Milk & Honey, while Tempest will be vending in her usual lobby space. You also have a pretty good shot at finding Jason at the lobby bar and sushi restaurant, because he likes to sit there, slowly sip on Jameson, and people watch for hours on end.

Detroit/Dearborn Michigan, February 21-24

ConVocation has quietly become one of the biggest Pagan gatherings in North America with about 1000 attendees every year! That’s a lot of people braving the snow and ice of Michigan in February for some Pagan hijinks! Often overlooked, the Michigan Pagan Community is one of the best in North America, and ConVocation is one of the most open and friendly festivals in existence! If you can’t have some fun and learn things at ConVocation you aren’t trying! We are small in number at ConVocation this year, but you’ll still notice us, possibly.

Yeah, Jason is going to be really busy at ConVocation. They seem to really like him, or maybe they don’t like him which is why they give him so many workshops. I guess how you interpret that is a personal call.

Minneapolis Minnesotta, March 22-24

Paganicon is the youngest of the three events listed in this space, but is rapidly growing and lots of fun! Bonus this year unrelated to Patheos Pagan, the great Damh the Bard is flying in from England for workshops and a concert! Very cool. Lots of Druids at Paganicon this year, they might have to temporarily change their name to Druidicon.
