The Gist: Uday Hussein, the pathological son of Sadaam, forces a young man named Latif to become his physical twin, in order to thwart would-be assassins. Latif becomes entrapped in a world of senseless violence and obsessive consumption.
Bottom Line: While Dominic Cooper does an excellent job of portraying both Uday and Latif, sometimes playing Latif pretending to be Uday, the rest of the film is remarkably boring. Lots of evil things happen but nothing much changes.
Be Aware: Rated R for strong bloody violence, sexual images, torture. This film is graphic and hard to watch, all the more so for being based on a true story.
Verdict: Skip it. It’s not good enough to justify the icky scenes in it.
