3) Tell It On The Mountain
The American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) did a study on accountability and found that you have a 65% chance of completing a goal if you communicate it to someone. This one simple act almost doubles, statistically, your odds of success.
Why? Because we are created to do life in community. We have families, friends, marriages, social media, and massive cities all because we do better when we are in things together.
Tell someone about your goal. And not in a joking I-probably-won’t-do-this, self-deprecating sort of way, acting like the class clown to avoid vulnerability and the possibility of failure. Share with someone seriously and ask them to check in with you. It makes a world of difference.
