The Naked Mystic: Peace In The Middle East and St. Francis

September 21st, 2012 is UN World Day of Peace.  Yet as we look around we see lots of unrest in the world and very little peace.  As many of you know already peace begins with you, so may we pray for the world, for the middle East, and Globe.  However you pray, whether you have a God or no God, whether you believe or not, however you can offer  a thought of peace to the globe.  Thoughts are prayers- so today let your thoughts be prayers.  Thinking on peace.  What does peace feel like? Is your life peaceful? Am I living in complete peace within myself? Where can I bring peace in my life?

Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury,pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen
